Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy involves the application of liquid nitrogen to skin lesions allowing their removal. More than one application may be necessary for complete removal.

Dermatology

All doctors in the surgery manage skin conditions. Dr. Tony Foley has a particular interest in Dermatology. Most skin conditions can be easily managed in the surgery including but not limited to acne, eczema, psoriasis, ulcers and warts or verrucae.

Dressings

The practice nurse can assess and treat chronic or acute wounds as well as skin ulceration. Dressings that require a number of nurse’s appointments a week should be made in advance as the nurse can book up quickly.

Driving License Medicals

Venesection

This is a new service which we provide for patients with Haemochromatosis. It involves the removal of excess iron from the body. It is a 30 minute appointment with the nurse, usually carried out in the afternoon. To avail of this service an initial appointment with one of the doctors is required, or a direct referral by a consultant.

Venesection is generally covered by private insurance, as long as all the usual criteria are met, (Please check with your individual insurance provider). If you have no private medical insurance there will be a fee (€70.00). This service is not covered by the GMS card, or doctor's visit card. (there is a fee of €50).
