Influenza & Pneumovac
Each year we administer the seasonal flu vaccine annually, usually beginning in October. We find the best way to do this is in evening clinics after the surgery has closed. In this way there are no hold-ups or delays as the doctors are only administering vaccines and not having consultations.
We do not give appointments for the flu vaccine during surgery hours because the huge demand for vaccines would leave no appointmens free for other services
The Pneumovac vaccine which protects against pneumonia need only be administered once every 10 years, if you are over 65 years of age, and once every 5 years, if you are under 65 years of age. You should discuss whether you need this vaccine with your doctor.
