Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy involves the application of liquid nitrogen to skin lesions. This "freezing" destroys the lesion from deep under the skin and usually causes it to disappear. However in some cases more than one application is necessary.
This treatment is suitable for simple warts, verrucae, skin tags, seborrhoeic keratosis and certain other skin conditions. The doctor may decide that a referral to hospital might be more appropriate in some, more complicated cases.
usually children under the age of 7 years do not tolerate this procedure.
If you have private health insurance (VHI, Quinn, Aviva), this will cover the cost of the first application.
